Yesterday, a pretty unique game launched on PC. Memento, by Labo Game Studio and Playism, is a self-proclaimed Action Horror Adventure game with multiple endings. That's a pretty versatile title. It's also sprite animated with a top-down jrpg style approach for gameplay. If you're like me, that description is pretty difficult to imagine. The good news is that we have a launch trailer to help us out.

But not by much.

It is intriguing, but it is still hard to imagine how the game works. If the music and sounds in the trailer probably do the best work at creating a sense of unsettling dread. The content is all over the place. The action goes from an insane propeller monster chase to an ill-fated nature hike and ends with a stroll down a dark hallway. Given, we have no context for the situations or what lies between them. With the right story and tone, perhaps these scenes would be utterly frightening. If you're wanting to find out, Memento retails for $5.98 on Steam and is available now.
