Mark McMorris Infinite Air (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC - Q4 2016)
Snowboarding games are so rare nowadays, but it looks to be making a comeback... at least a little bit of one. Mark McMorris Infinite Air is the first open-world, physics-based snowboarding video game built in partnership and close collaboration with top pro-snowboarder Mark McMorris. This game promises the hyper-realism of snowboarding with highly-sensitive and fluid controls so players can experience the authentic movement found in snowboarding. Players will be able to explore a vast amount of back-country and compete in real-world competitions such as Slopestyle, Halfpipe, and Big Air across procedurally generated mountain ranges. Not only that, but fans will be able to create their own courses with the full-feature course editor that offers "near infinite" options. Not only that but, in an age where sharing is common, players will be able to share their courses.
I've been waiting for a game like this for quite some time now. I miss snowboarding games like crazy, and this would be the first in a long while that I would be into. Let's just hope it lives up to its claims.
Road Rage (PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC - September 2016)
I know, I know, it's not Road Rash. There was the spiritual successor called Road Redemption, but it didn't live up to the game in terms of content and physics... or it's still working on it. However, Road Rage actually sounds closer to Road Rash. It boasts heavy melee-based combat motorbike racing that screams an adrenaline rush. There will be 42 story-based missions following a man named Ace, the newest member of the outlaw motorcycle club that controls the underground crime in Ashen. With an open-world environment, 11 distinct characters, customizable bikes and weapons, I have hope that this game will be able to satiate the Road Rash Blues I've been experience for some time now.
Loading Human: Chapter One (PlayStation 4, PC, Oculus Rift - Fall 2016)
Finally, there is Loading Human: Chapter One, which has been floating around the internet for awhile. It's a virtual reality sci-fi adventure set in the 22nd Century. Expect some deep story, interactivity, and immersive physical gameplay. It will also be an episodic title--Chapter One sets the tale as players slip into the shoes of Prometheus, a scientist who fulfills his dying father's wish of searching for the Quintessence, the most powerful known source in the universe. The goal of the game? To save his father, of course.
Maximum Games will be on the show floor at Booth #2605 in the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center from Tuesday, June 14, 2016 to Thursday, June 16, 2016. Expect plenty of surprises and giveaways there, which range from beanies to t-shirts and even a Burton Process snowboard.
According to Christina Seelye, CEO of Maximum Games:
"We're coming to this year's E3 with the strongest, most diverse collection of games in Maximum Games' history. Our lineup this year represents our passion to continuously push boudnaries, whether it's with a risk-taking genre or cutting-edge technology. We even have a couple of unannounced surprises!"
Hopefully these will be mind-blowing surprises, because the three games that will be available at E3 have already caused me to become giddy with glee.
Look forward to the Maximum Games lineup at E3 2016.
