Master Chief has always been considered "the good guy" of the Halo series that could do no wrong. However, our views on Master Chief may, in fact, be shattered thanks to an alternate reality game that has kicked off the anticipated Halo 5: Guardians.
Deep breath. Cue drum roll.
Wait for it...
Master Chief could very well be a traitor.
Let that sink in for a moment.
For those that haven't collapsed from the possbility, a Soundcloud profile named HUNTtheTRUTH was uploaded, featuring the awesome Michael Key of Key & Peele. He portrayed journalist Benjamin Giraud, a fan of Master Chief writing a profile on the hero.
During Episode 00. PRIMER on SoundCloud, he finds himself questioning Master Chief. Another hint to support the rumor are words that embedded in Halo 5: Bullet. If paused at the right moments, you will find eleven words on the bullet as it sails into Master Chief's helmet: son, abductee, victim, orphan, recruit, soldier, warrior, ally, hero, savior, traitor.
Star Maps are also being pieced together, but the conclusion of all of these hints are still over our heads. Seems like Halo 5: Guardians will show a rather darker side of Master Chief.
Expect a live-action trailer to reveal a bit of the story on March 29th. Perhaps the trailer will reveal the reality of Master Chief, but if not, we just have to remain patient for a little while longer.
