New information has been leaked regarding the highly-anticipated action game The Last of Us: Part 2. Video footage, images, and developer menus have been shared online, rumored to be legitimate spoilers for the title.

The footage contains gameplay, cutscenes, menus, and some developer console code. It reveals major plot points, game concepts, and important characters.

The leaks appeared not long after the game was put on an indefinite delay. The developers cite the COVID-19 pandemic as a cause for complications regarding development progress, making them unable to predict when the game might be ready for launch. Until later today, when Sony announced a new release date for the title.

One rumor is that all of this content was shared online (anonymously) by a disgruntled member of the development team. There is no confirmation of this idea. There is no confirmation that the leaks themselves are real. Though to be frank, it would take tremendous effort to produce as much content as we're seeing in the leak in a way that emulated The Last of Us' style and quality.

We will not be sharing any potential spoiler information in this article. If you are curious and want to see, check out this popular ResetEra thread about the leaks. That said, we caution anyone who wants to remain spoiler-free. There will be folks out there trying to ruin the experience for others by sharing sensitive information.

The Last of Us: Part 2 will be published by Sony and is being developed by Naughty Dog. The game will release on a PlayStation 4 console On June 19.

UPDATE: Shortly after this report. Sony announced the new release date. The article has been updated to reflect this information accordingly.
