Mario Kart World Tour Is Now Available

It isn't... very... good.

If you enjoy Mario Kart and want a taste of the racing title on mobile, well you should be happy to know that Mario Kart World Tour is now available on Android and iOS.

Here are some issues with the title, however, just to know before you go in:
  • There are only two laps per race. Sorry to say there are not three.
  • There is no multiplayer whatsoever. You only play against the AI. Which is odd, considering much of the gameplay of Mario Kart is built on multiplayer.
  • 200cc mode and special race prizes is locked behind the Gold pass, which is $4.99 per month.
  • Gatcha is in this title, as you would expect. You can unlock both karts and racers with rubies.
Personal opinion? It's a little - okay, a bit - predatory, considering they are gatekeeping a mode behind a monthly pass. I'm not entirely sure why they would go to such great lengths (outside of money, anyway), but this seems a little... wrong. Either way, have you tried the game? What do you think of it? Let us know in the comments!
