Fasten your seatbelts, for Mario Kart has recently become a lot more extreme, even moreso than when the franchise has appeared in Death Race a few years ago. To celebrate release of Mad Max: Fury Road, Mario Kart has taken to the post-acocalyptic world in unforgettable race filled with bountiful peril and so many explosions that Michael Bay would cry.

The video is a brilliant fan reimagining of the Fury Road trailer. It begins with the face-clouds hovering over and later transforms into a race full of item boxes, bananas, star power, and worst of all, the dreaded Rainbow Road. We are even treated to the activation of the lightning power-up, which, in this context, appears pretty devastating. However, the most evil of objects within Mario Kart has made its way to the trailer. For those that have somehow not played any game of the series, here's the answer: the giant blue winged shell of death.

Imagine if the video actually contained Nintendo's iconic characters. How would you react if you saw your favorite characters in that mess?
