When the Nintendo Labo released, it was praised for its creative use of cardboard and Switch hardware to create unique experiences. Though like with most gimmicks, the zest faltered with time. Now Nintendo is adding more life to the Labo line, with Mario Kart 8 support.

If you own the Nintendo Labo Variety Kit, you likely already know about the Toy-Con Motorbike. This is a cardboard construction of a motorbike handlebar system. The player could turn to steer while revving their right hand to accelerate. Now the motorbike is an acceptable control scheme in Mario Kart 8: Deluxe.

Though in a press release by Nintendo, it won't stop here.

"Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the first game outside of Nintendo Labo software to receive Toy-Con support, and more titles will be compatible with Nintendo Labo in the future."

It's not certain which games might be the next on the Labo block, though time will tell. Personally, I'd love to see a rhythm game use the Labo Piano.
