The Switch's version of Mario Kart 8 is coming out tomorrow, April 28th, and people are very excited for it. The game has gotten great reviews from people that got their hands on it early and although it's a remake, it doesn't feel like one. I mean, at the end of the day Mario Kart is Mario Kart. They're all extremely similar and they're all extremely fun. I don't think people are really looking at this as a re-release of a 3-year-old game. I think people are really looking at this as an opportunity to play a game from a classic Nintendo series on the brand new console.

Although this is still Mario Kart 8, there are plenty of new features. They've added some new items for the different game mode, and they've added smart steering. The smart steering is really cool and it helps new players out a ton. With this turned on, the game doesn't allow you to fly off the edge. You can drive toward the edges of the map and the smart steering will automatically pull your car in a different direction. In turn, this will prevent players from hitting shortcuts and maximizing speed around corner so you have to keep that in mind before turning it on or off. Plus, as an added bonus, the game comes with the largest roster of racers ever at 42 playable characters.

Not to mention that this version has so many different ways to play. Whether you're fully docked for your television, taking the handheld version out for a long trip in the backseat of a car, or just using the little Joy-Con controllers to play with friends. The controls flow very naturally no matter which way you choose to play and the game is extremely simple. Whether you're a long time fan of the series, or just a young kid looking to pick up something fun, this is your game.

Compared to Mario Kart games on other devices, the resolution doesn't even compare to the quality of the Switch. Other versions of the game have been extremely low-resolution and Nintendo has been able to get away with it. The increased resolution of the Switch allows for the game to appear clear, crisp, and better than ever before. You'll be absolutely blown away. If you haven't seen all that much of the game, feel free to check out the gameplay video own below and see what you think of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe!
