Mafia 3, the next in the Mafia series, recently got a new reveal trailer at this year's Gamescom. Check it out:
Mafia 3 takes place in 1968 and stars Lincoln Clay, a Vietnam Veteran who is apparently quite fond of his adopted family, so much so hes even willing to commit murder most foul on their behalf. While details are sparse beyond what we see in the trailer, looking at the two earlier games, we can assume its going to be a crime sandbox game with a heavier focus on narrative and authenticity than freedom and chaosin stark contrast with GTA.
Pretty cool. Mafia 3 isnt terribly big in the United States, but the franchise has some serious love in central Europe, so those guys are probably crazy pumped. Still, in todays market hard to say if Mafia 3 will be competitive. Time will tell, I suppose.
