So simple yet so refined. That's how the Mad Catz R.A.T.1 Mouse appears. Like the F.R.E.Q. TE 7.1 headset, the R.A.T.1 will be ready for the holiday season. But what is the R.A.T.1, exactly? Well, to put it simply, it's a new concept in mice that features 3D printing.

Yeah, that's right. Full customization at its finest. Utilizing an innovative modular design, owners will be able to personalize their sleek R.A.T.1 mouse, providing even more ways to make the mouse their very own. R.A.T.1 also has received the distinguished CES 2016 Innovations Award Honoree for outstanding design and engineering in the Gaming and Virtual Reality Category. As a result, the mouse will be featured during CES 2016 at the Innovation Awards Showcase.

The mouse itself features three core components: Tripod Chassis, Sensor Module, and Adjustable Palm Rest, which can be customized to suit personal tastes. Additionally, it is ultra-lightweight, crafted from the same exact materials used in the tournament mice. Are you also curious about the DPI? If you are, I can very well tell you that it has an adjustable 3500DPS optical Pixard PMW3320 gaming-grade Sensor Module. To put the cherry on top, the R.A.T.1 is the world's first gaming mouse that encourages owners to customize the palm rest with the 3D Printer. 3D CAD files of the Palm Rest will be available.

According to Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz:

"With a gaming DNA derived from the award-winning R.A.T. PRO Series, the R.A.T. re-envisions what a gaming mice could be with its innovative modular design and unique customization options.
The R.A.T.1 sets a new standard in design and personalization, appealing to both passionate gamers and casual users alike - allowing us to broaden the appeal of our R.A.T., range and drive our PC business into 2016 and beyond."

Completely user-friendly with plug-and-play capabilities on Windows, this mouse is expected to ship just in time for the holidays of this year. You can pre-order the R.A.T.1 for only $29.99 at the Mad Catz store here.

Being that it combines mice with 3D printing, do you plan on purchasing the R.A.T.1?
