Machinima Removes All Content From YouTube After Management Shift

It sounds like they're relocating it.

Machinima, the popular video game video production team, has removed every single video from YouTube after an acquisition by Otter Media.

Machinima was acquired by Warner Media in November of 2016. But it wasn't until June of 2018 when Warner was bought out by AT&T did things change. This led to Machinima being put under the management of Otter Media in December.

A number of Machinima members were laid off as a result of the change, while others were redirected to a different company under Otter Group called Fullscreen.

Now all content on Machinima's YouTube channel has been set to private, leaving it unviewable by the general public. It's not clear what will happen to the videos or the Machinima channel at this time, but Otter Media did issue a statement to Kotaku, implying that they will continue to create content, just not under the Machinima channel itself.

"We are focused on creating new content with the Machinima team, which will be distributed on new channels to be announced in the coming months.

In the meantime the Machinima network of creator channels continues to showcase the talents of the network. As part of this focus on new content, we have pivoted from distributing content on a handful of legacy operated channels."

While I've heard a fair number of horror stories about freelance creators working with Machinima, it's always a shame to see so much content just disappear like that.
