Okay, gamers love loot in their games. This is evident by MMORPGs and... well, games in general. People love the idea of collecting shiny things, digital or physical, and a lot of the time, if there is no shiny carrot at the end of the stick, why bother with the stick?

Today, Rhizome Games' first title is now up for fresh voting on Steam Greenlight. Named Loot Hound, as the player with a dog, you're on a scavenger hunt. And you know what that means...

Do you?

You'd tell me if you didn't know, right?

Well, for those that (somehow) don't know, a scavenger hunt means treasure! As a pack rat that is the perfect fodder for the show Hoarders, you're on a mission to discover all the amazing items that lurk beneath a growing city. With your trusty dog as your sidekick, your goal is to collect 110 items in 10 different parks that range widely in size. Be forewarned, as many of these items won't be exactly considered normal. Loot Hound differs from other indie games by combining exploration, simulation, and strategy that appeal to a wide variety of gamers.

The cooler thing is that Loot Hound was inspired by games like Ico, which is evident of the bond development between you and your canine friend. Loot Hound also borrows the simple and addictive mini-games of fish and bug collecting from Animal Crossing.

Without fear or death, the goal of the game is to offer a relaxing experience for everyone:

"Walking your dog in a park should be a relaxing experience so we've put a lot of effort into creating a look and ambiance you enjoy spending time in but there are also moments that are meant to challenge your ability to lead your dog from trouble, like the Park Patrol or keeping your dog from chasing other animals and people."

Humor will be playing a big role in this. According to Pete Low, one of the founders of Rhizome Games:

"We were working with the concept of 'one person's trash is another's treasure' so the story, as it unfolds, is really how your character perceives the things that they find. To them even the most mundane things can have value if you attach the right story to them. One of the loot items you can find is the Legendary Bag of Nuts, which is, in fact, a common item. It just happens to be the brand name of the snack. But there is a Legendary Legendary Bag of Nuts and that's one of the hardest things to find."

So if this sounds like something that you'd be interested in playing in, then by all means, do hurry to the Steam Greenlight Page and give the game the thumbs up of approval.
