Cause one Link wasn't enough.

Nintendo is putting a fair amount of stock into Link's Breath of the Wild design. So much so, in fact, that they're adding this form of Link, complete with the Master Cycle Zero, into Mark Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch.

A recent update to the popular racing game adds a new playable character: The Legend of Zelda's Link, but wearing the Champion's Tunic prevalent in Breath of the Wild. It also features a new motorcycle option based on the Master Cycle Zero, a motorized "horse" playable in Breath of the Wild's DLC. This includes a new tire option, called Ancient Tires, and a new glider, based on Breath of the Wilds paraglider.

The update will make a few gameplay changes, as well. Though the details are expanded via the Nintendo Support page as nothing more than "revisions to improve gameplay, as well as some content not listed here."

Link first appeared in Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U, where he appeared in DLC centered around the RPG franchise. This included a playable link closer to his Skyward Sword design, a unique horse style motorcycle, and even a Zelda-inspired stage. Apparently that wasn't enough.
