Still no Lightning Returns.
So what gives? Well, we've finally heard from producer Yoshinori Kitase via Twitter (thanks Siliconera):
"Producer Kitase speaking. This is a development status report on the Windows PC version of Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIIII. We are currently finishing up the last parts, so it'll be just a little longer until it is complete. At this rate, it looks like it'll release sometime in December. We apologize for making you wait longer, as we previously said that it will release sometime in fall. We'll have an announcement once more details are available."
Though Lightning Returns hasn't done all that well on the consoles--it's hard to when it suffers from threequel-itis--it still has a home for many fans.
Personally, I've sold my PlayStation 3 before I could finish the title, even though I still own a copy of the game, so I'm looking forward to this release, if only to finally beat it. It's good that the game has suffered some delays, however, because frankly, the past two titles haven't done the greatest on PC due to framerate and optimization issues. So here's to a successful PC launch!
