Sometimes, out of the blue, a new video game is thrown to our attention, momentarily tearing us away from our highly-anticipated games--and after the reveal, these games are sometimes tossed onto the "to-buy" pile.

Some new games end up in our "to-buy" piles, carrying an interesting hook. Lately, what seems to strike many gamers' curiosities are open-ended games where we have much control over our actions--like a choose your own adventure that encompasses the various genres of gaming. Well, one recently-announced game fits this bill, unveiled as a single trailer by Sony:

Titled Stories: The Hidden Path, this Spearhead Games'-developed action-RPG sets its eyes on creating a personal experience. Thrown into the body of an anthropomorphic fox named Reynardo, you are the beacon of hope within the magical realm. The Imperial armada is on the verge of overtaking the homeland, and the citizens depend on you, as the last sky corsair, to stop them. What unfolds is entirely reliant on your actions, but what makes this game unique is not the event-changing system, but instead the shifts of motivations and behaviors of characters caused by your actions. It's interesting to see how far the game will take advantage of the storytelling system. The biggest question to keep in mind is: How many paths can there be?

Unfortunately, we don't know any more than what's been revealed, but hopefully the trailer will satiate your curiosity appetite--if you have one--until the release of Stories' details.
