While some leaks can be false or just straight up fake, this seems pretty legitimate. It honestly looks like they received a package, pulled out the poster, and immediately took a picture of it. An image emerged of a Destiny 2 poster from an Italian website called Lega Network, sourced from what looks like an Italian Gamespot. There's also a separate image of the poster on Imgur. The leaked image shows that Destiny 2 will be released on September 8th, 2017, a date that has yet to be confirmed by Bungie. The poster also indicates that the beta will be available early for PS4 players, something that Bungie has done before so it's no surprise but still disappointing.
If Gamespot already has the poster then I think it's safe to say that an official reveal was already planned for the near future. Maybe Bungie didn't anticipate a leak so soon, but I don't think it's wise to trust in minimum wage employees to keep such a juicy secret; somebody is bound to do some snooping. Anyway, I think we'll be in for an announcement from Bungie very soon regarding this leak, or just simply confirming the information with an official launch date and maybe a trailer. As for the poster itself, It doesn't look too special or different from the first Destiny.
While Destiny 2 is coming out sooner than expected for some, Destiny still has some content available for players to enjoy before inevitably saying goodbye to the game, and goodbye to all their sweet, sweet loot. While players will be able to keep their character personalization (like that really matters anyway with Destiny's lackluster customizer), they will not be able to keep any gear association with their character. Bungie is assuring us that everybody will have a fresh start in Destiny 2.
