League of Legends Reveals New Cinematic

With the Dota 2 International wrapped up and finished, we can now officially start paying attention to other MOBAs again. League of Legends, seemingly capitalizing on the hype generated by Mondays stellar match, today released its third CGI cinematic, a New Dawn and its fantastic. Check it out.

Following A Twist of Fate, we created A New Dawn to explore fleshed-out champion interpretations and brutal team fights in ways theyve never been seen before, Riot Games, the developer behind League of Legends, writes, Check out the behind-the-scenes video below for a look at how we tapped into character design, music, animation, and even classic Foley techniques to showcase some of your favorite champions slugging it out for blood, guts, and glory.

Indeed, in addition to the new cinematic, they also released a short video showing off the process of making these high-quality, high-octane videos. Ive included it below.

Pretty cool seeing all these champions duke it out in high definition, and I liked the coherency of it allmoreso than the random brawls shown off in their second cinematic. Recently Riot Games revealed they were doing a visual update of their most popular 5v5 map, Summoners Rift: perhaps this video was to help showcase the kind of environment they wanted the new map to feel like?

Well, either way, its a neat little treat for fans and newcomers alike.
