Korra gets her own Game from Bayonetta 2 Dev

I don't think they'll share the same health system, though.

Platinum games, the folks behind Bayonetta, Anarchy Reigns, Metal Gear Rising: Revengance and The Wonderful 101, will now be taking a stab at making a Legend of Korra  game.

Yes, you read that right.

While the game is slated to come out relatively soon, this fall, it’s only now been announced, which bodes poorly.  Still, here’s what we know of the game: you’ll play as a world savior—called the Avatar—named Korra, and you’ll use your ability to control all four elements to kick the butt of spirits, human foes, and play sports.  The game will be written by the same person writing the TV show, will be set in the second and third season, and will be released on all major current and last-gen consoles, as well as PC for some reason.

Now, a tie-in game with a nickelodeon cartoon wouldn’t normally be that exciting—the original Avatar TV show had lots of tie-in games and they all were varying degrees of suck.  That said, this one will be made by, as stated above, Platinum games.  And if anyone could make bending battles the over-the-top Spectacle they were always designed to be, it would be those guys.

They will also be releasing a Legend of Korra game for the 3DS, except instead of a third-person fighting game, it’s a strategy-heavy tactical game.

While I’d like to be excited about the game, something’s bothering me about the trailer.  It has that unnerving Lara Croft quality of disempowering the female lead instead of showing the usual ass-kicking we come to expect in game trailers, with it ending with Korra getting overwhelmed by spirits.  I dunno, it fits with the actual cartoon but it still makes me feel kinda spotty.
