Konami Unveils Full Lineup of TurboGrafx-16 Mini

The TurboGrafx-16 is a bit of an oddball. It launched in the late '80s alongside the likes of the original Nintendo/Famicom, but instead of competing with Nintendo, it instead competed with the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo. Worldwide, it sold 10 million units, which is quite a feat (though I am shocked I've never really heard of this console until fairly recently). 

Konami has recently announced the return of the TurboGrafx-16 by unveiling the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, a dedicated console that comes complete with a grand total of 50 games. However, we've recently learned what those 50 games are - and 26 of them happen to be Japanese. While there are title duplicates, these "duplicates" will contain some minor regional differences. The TurboGrafx-16 Mini will feature two controller ports, multi-tap compatibility (sold separately), CRT scanlines and quick safes. 

This miniature console will be sold exclusively on Amazon, with pre-orders beginning on July 15. TurboGrafx-16 Mini's official launch is March 19, 2020.
