Anyway, earlier this month, Konami announced it was dissolving three of its production divisions and shuffling some employees around in the process. It would make sense to assume that Konami, who's not really in the business of making games, would be shutting down their game-making production division. And yet, they went out of their way to make sure people understood that was not the case.
From the press statement, translated from Japanese:
“The announcement made refers to an internal restructure, with Production Divisions being consolidated. We have not shut down our video gaming division.”
It's anyone's guess why they're so desperately clinging to this particular division of their company, given how resistant they are to the notion of even making games anymore. But we'll find out sooner or later, I imagine.
