Most of us have stolen or thought of stealing for one reason or another at some point in our lives. I personally admit to stealing seashells at age five--that didn't go well for me. Anyway, there are some that begin to steal small, harmless items, but the act of thievery could become more habitual and addictive, with the temptation of looting larger items and materials growing. Next thing you know, you're stewing in jail, waiting for a crude tattoo of a skull and bones created as a joint project among your cellmates.
But how can you satisfy your craving for pilfering? Simple answer: Klepto!
I'm referring to the video game, by the by. If you're having suppressed criminal urges, then Meerkat Gaming-developed Klepto: Burglary Simulator may be up your alley.
Basically, homes are ripe for pillaging--any home. Seriously, you can break into ANY home. No real person would fault you for looting in the digital world. However, that same statement may not ring true with the virtual police.
But everything is legal anyway until you're caught, so why not?
You begin your career as an amateur, but you can work your way to the top and eventually have access to all the high-tech tools. During your journey, a variety of tools, disguises, and hacking techniques will be at your disposal to take what's yours. If you're wondering about multiplayer, don't worry--multiplayer is in this. Can't forget about multiplayer, so grab a buddy and hop onto the looting train! Of course, the experience can be enhanced with virtual reality, though the feature is not required. However, what is tempting for some is the planned integration of motion-tracking peripherals.
Currently, Klepto: Burglary Simulator is on Indiegogo, seeking $2,500 to help fund the title. Unfortunately, only $280 has been raised within a month with eight days to go. Despite the framerate issues (which will hopefully be fixed), this game looks fairly solid, so hopefully it will see its way onto digital shelves. That being said, Klepto is also on Steam Greenlight awaiting a thumbs up, so if you're interested, now's the time to show that interest. Klepto is expected to release sometime in 2016.
