So, if there’s one problem with E3, it’s that a lot of what you get are trailers. Now, no one here is dissing the noble trailer—the can be one-to-three minutes of bliss and joy, but when that’s ALL we get, well… it can be hard to fashion an article around each one. For example: as happy as it would make many fans of the Kingdom Heart franchise to learn something—anything—about the game, its development, the plot, the worlds, the whatever—all we have right now is a trailer and a promise that it’s currently in development. Shucks.
Okay, that’s not entirely true. The trailer also shows off some stages, a few enemies, a boss or two, and some new special attacks that has Sora summon amusement park rides to murderize the heartless. Also, there’s some dialogue between characters I don’t know. Although, in deference to Kingdom Hearts, I could say the same about half the characters in the franchise.
So, while this was a nice “Hey, we remember this is a thing” from Square Enix and Disney, it’s hardly going to sate the die-ard fans. Unfortunately, there’s little they can do to remedy the situation, outside perhaps writing angry fan-fiction. Close enough to the real deal, right?
