We here at GamerzUnite haven’t been paying much attention to Kingdom Come: Deliverance. No real reason for it; it's just a hefty year for PC and console gaming and there were other things to talk about. But perhaps that lack of attention was a mistake, as apparently, the game has been selling quite well… at least, as well as a game made by a small central European studio can. And despite its many bugs, flaws, and failings, it’s managed to sell around a million copies in under two weeks.
The game has gotten a lot of attention by other websites because of its flawed-yet-charmingly ambitious goal of making an RPG set in a far more authentic depiction of the middle ages, where you play an uneducated potato who can barely fight and can’t read. With no dragons to slay, all you can do is fight the occasional bandit and realize why more people didn’t historically charge bandit camps by themselves to claim their sweet loot. It’s a very unique game, and one I admit I’m tempted by.
Maybe once all the bugs are sorted out I’ll give it another look, but in the meantime, it doesn’t seem to be hurting sales from less-picky gamers, so good for them.
