Kholat, an indie exploration adventure game inspired by the Dyatlov Pass Incident, is just around the corner. Produced by IMGN.PRO and launching on Steam June 9th, Kholat features the player leaping into the Ural Mountains in order to uncover the truth behind the Dyatlov Pass Incident--a true event in 1959 that led to the deaths of nine skilled Russian hikers. Back then, investigators have claimed that the deaths were a result of "a compelling unknown force."

There are, of course, theories that have risen--one relating to avalanche damage, another involving the creation of a Karman vortex street, resulting in infrasound that affects humans, and one suggests that the incident was actually a military accident covered up. But which is it? Or is it a reason entirely different?

Of course three main questions will roam through your mind as you pursue the truth:

Will you find the answer?
Will you get any closer to the truth?
Will you survive?

Features:
  • Self-made story inspired by true events
  • Main storyline and a lot of background plot to be discovered by players
  • Non-linear open world
  • In-game navigation by map and compass
  • Powered by Unreal Engine 4
  • Challenging exploration
  • Game length: 4 - 6 hours
The best feature of this game, however, isn't any of those--Kholat is narrated by Sean Bean.

Yes, THE Sean Bean. From the Lord of the Rings.

You can pre-purchase Kholat on Steam for $17.99, 10% off the MSRP of $19.99--hurry though, because the promotion will end on June 22nd.

Steam will offer Kholat on June 9th, suggesting that the game will be released worldwide on the Central European Time zone.
