Just Cause 3 Gameplay Teaser Released

The Just Cause series has been called “Skyrim with Guns” for a reason… wait, no, that was Far Cry 3. Whatever. Point is, the Just Cause series is well known for providing a giant sandbox of explodable things, several methods to explode them, and giving you the slimmest of justifications by way of a plot before letting you lose on the world to wreak havoc.

Fitting, then, that one of the first gameplay trailers for the game would completely omit any mention of story or plot (outside a single ‘nod’ by way of a single shot of a propaganda billboard) and simply focus on running, gunning, and making things go boom. It’s a minute and a half of solid action that would leave Michal Bay’s pants a little moist. Check it out:

First thought: Wingsuits. We’ve been getting a lot of those in games as of late, not sure how I feel about that. Second thought: this was actually really cool. I mean, I know most of it was choreographed to the biggest degree but still it looks pretty and it was heart-pounding to boot. Maybe I’m just a sucker for spectacle, but this really worked for me.

Just Cause 3 comes out for PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait for mods to give us a multiplayer mode.
