Today marks the arrival of three new Tekken 7 characters. The roster is increasingly growing diverse, not in terms of characterization, but in reference to physical appearance and nationality.
During a 20th anniversary Nico Nico streaming presentation, Tekken 7 Director and Producer Katsuhiro announced Josie Rizal, a fresh face to the Tekken series. Josie is the first character from the Philippines, and she seems to portray a combination of fighting styles of several of the other Tekken characters, which is actually a combination of eskrima and kick boxing, a welcoming pace. Fun fact: she is actually named after Jose Rizal, the Philippines' national hero.
Of course we can't forget about the iconic character Jin Kazama. He and his devil form will return in Tekken 7, hopefully with a juicy, interesting background story (especially after the events of Tekken 6). Though his human form changed slightly, his devil form appearance hasn't changed, but it never needed to.
Tekken 7 has just become more exciting with the additions of these characters. Hopefully we will look forward to more character updates in the oncoming months.
Below you will find trailers for Josie and Jin. You can find Devil Jin's reveal trailer here.
