Remember the ever popular amiibos? I have written a bit about Nintendo's interactive figurines, but it's only because these toys have garnered attention for one reason or another. They have been a huge boost in profits for Nintendo, but they have also been a good source of money for eBay sellers. For instance, we have witnessed the sale of the defective Princess Peach amiibo, which has sold for over $25,000 on eBay. The Samus Aran double cannon defective figure has also fetched a sum of about $2,500.
With the release of the Diddy Kong amiibo in December, the defects haven't ended. The main defect found on the Diddy Kong amiibo is not a missing tail, a non-existent cap, or the lack of a starry shirt. Instead the defect is a missing jaw. Kind of creepy, isn't it? Unfortunately, it hasn't sold like the other defective amiibos, but it has made a pretty penny nevertheless. The typical cost of an amiibo is $13.99 Canadian dollars, or $12.99 US dollars, but the defective, jawless Diddy Kong amiibo has raked in a cool $471.99 CAD, or roughly $403.03 USD. In other words the seller has made a clean profit of $458 CAD, or $390.04 USD, not including the eBay seller fees.
This is still incentive to continue looking for those defectives, but it doesn't mean these defectives will be easily found. However, it can't hurt to try if they can sell for the value of a PlayStation 4.
