Woo! Been a while since this particular turd showed up in the news!

So, quick reminder: James ‘Phantoml0rd’ Varga was a Twitch star who got in a little bit of trouble with his streaming platform of choice when it was discovered that he owned the CS:GO Gambling site that he frequently promoted on his channel, and that he would occasionally (all the time) gamble on that site with house money, and adjust the odds to make it look as if he won more often than a normal person would. All-around class act.

Twitch eventually shut down the account because he deserves that and a kick in the head, but he didn’t take too kindly to that and, in 2018, started a lawsuit against Twitch for "unsubstantiated, false accusations leveled at Varga by a third party” and for shutting down his account without giving him a 30 day warning.

Now, here’s the bad news: Varga just won a small victory in that case, when the judge overseeing it ruled that the clause in his contract with Twitch, which claims that he can’t sue for more than $50k, is “unconscionable”, which basically means that it’s so broken that the Judge is dismissing it from the case. This being the case, James Varga can now sue for however much he wants.

Here’s the good news: the judge saw through his bullcrap claim that he didn’t read the digital copy of the contract he was given because he “didn’t know he could scroll through the pages”, and threw that out of the court, and that this verdict has absolutely no bearing on the substance of the case itself, which means Varga can, and probably should, lose this case. And a lot of money. And maybe his house too I really don’t like this guy okay.

Luckily, since I’m not in the jury, I don’t need to be impartial.
