If you're a huge fan of Jak and Daxter, I have some pretty good news for you. No longer will you have to pull your old PS2 out from under that box labeled Winter in the basement. You'll be able to play it directly on your PS4. Along with the Crash Bandicoot remaster thats on the way, all four Jak and Daxter games will be remastered and released as well.
Wait a minute. What do you mean all four Jak and Daxter games? It was a trilogy. That is a very valid question and I'm glad you asked. The trilogy is being remastered and released on PS4 which includes, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II, and Jak 3. They are also deciding to remaster Jak X: Combat Racing, the exciting spin-off racing title that is sure to take players on a nostalgia trip.
When the games drop on PS4 they will have trophy support as well as a nice 1080p resolution that will make you forget all about the old PS2 versions. Since it will be on the PS4, players will be able to use Remote Play, Share Play, and youll have activity feed support for it as well.
Sadly, no price has been revealed for the games just yet and no release date has been determined either. I can't imagine that the price would be too high, seeing as how they aren't anything new. Sources have said that the games will be released individually and not in a bundle package, but I don't know how reliable that is. Personally, I think a bundle would make way more sense, but as for right now it's all speculation and we'll find out more in the coming weeks.
For those of you that are looking forward to playing the racing game, this is the first time that Jak X has resurfaced on anything other than the PS2. The game launched 12 years ago and there will only be split-screen play and solo play available. There will be no online gameplay for Jak X whatsoever, but at least now you'll have a reason to invite people over for a little while.
I'm really hoping that these release soon. I played a ton of Jak and Daxter when I was younger and now that I'm older I would love to spark up some memories as I start my playthrough. Once more details surface we'll have the news right here. While you're waiting around with the rest of us, why not take a look at the brand new trailer they released to announce this remaster and take a trip down memory lane.
