Jack Black Confirmed to Play Claptrap in Upcoming Borderlands Movie

Progress on the Borderlands movie must be going smoothly. Another casting choice has been revealed. None other than Jack Black has been confirmed as the voice of Claptrap.

In Borderlands, Claptrap is the somewhat sarcastic sidekick robot that helps the protagonist start their adventure in the video games. The character will be returning in the film, where they will be voiced by Jack Black. This follows the confirmation of other film stars such as Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, and Cate Blanchett in the cast.

The information was reported by HollywoodReporter, where Director Eli Roth spoke about Blacks inclusion.

Black is a major name in the film industry. Hes been acting professionally since 1983, acting in such films as School of Rock, Kung Fu Panda, and Nacho Libre. He hasnt slowed down either, appearing in a number of recent film, such as the Jumanji revival and the Kong films.

With Claptrap being a robot, they could have cast just about anyone for the role. Choosing a major hitter like Jack Black is an interesting choice. While we wouldn't have imagined it, were sure he will perform the role well.
