Adam Boyes, CEO of Iron Galaxy Studios, recently expressed an interest in bringing Monster Hunter World to Switch on Twitter.
"Dear @monsterhunter team at Capcom - we understand that porting the game to Nintendo Switch is challenging . . . but this is exactly what @IToTheG does. Give us a shot & we wont let you down ;)"
Boyes' claims are accurate, as well. Iron Galaxy Studios is responsible for porting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the Switch. Monster Hunter: World was designed specifically for consoles, however. So converting the game would be a greater challenge. Boyes seems confident in the studio's abilities all the same.
Having started playing the Monster Hunter games with 3U on the 3DS, it will always hold a portable place in my heart. I would love to see the game come to the Switch. It would be even better if it supported local connections. You could easily gather a few friends to go on hunts together.
The ball is in Capcom's hand now.
