Virtual Reality has not yet taken off with the gaming community as a whole, mostly because of its high cost and lack of significant titles, but with Intel's recent announcement, it seems that they want to bring a competitive scene into VR already. Intel has partnered up with ESL, and they will be starting the first VR Esports League called the VR Challenger League.
The general consensus is that VR is not in a state to be played at a competitive level, especially with a lack of competitive games. VR, of course, has its place in the gaming community, but it might be a little early for it to enter the Esports Arena. Either way, the VR Challenger League is definitely interesting at the very least.
