Indie Title Slime Rancher Shines, Selling 800K Copies

Surprising, considering it's in early access.

It's impressive when a game hasn't left early access and still manages to sell hundreds of thousands of copies. Take, for example, Slime Rancher, the first-person sandbox experience that encourages players to use their wits to solve issues and survive through the mastery of their vacpack, a vacuum cannon backpack that can suck up and launch anything that isn't attached to the ground.

Want to know more about it? Well, for every day you survive, you will be presented with new challenges during your adventure to cultivate a fortune through slime ranching.

Here's what a day may entail: You wake up early in the morning and water crops at the ranch, so slimes can feed on the crops. However, not all slimes are vegetarians, so you may have to resort to gathering chickens for those that are more carnivorous.

Next, you would need to feed the hungry slimes at the slime corrals. Hungry slimes make jumpy slimes, after all.

You then explore the wilds of the range, encountering undiscovered slimes and veggies while avoiding death from feral slimes.

You then head back home, feed your slimes some dinner, and contain exploding slimes.

Anyway, it's cute and interesting, so it's probably why it has achieved the following:

Roughly 800,000 units sold.

Amazing, isn't it? This is according to the Co-Founder of Monomi Park, Nick Popovich.

Anyway, if you're interested in picking up the title, you should go ahead and pull the trigger by heading over to the Slime Rancher Steam Page.
