Immortals Fenyx Rising's 2nd DLC, Myths of the Eastern World, Release Date Revealed

Ubisoft is bringing a bit of a spring time surprise, revealing the official release date of Immortals Fenyx Rising second DLC: Myths of the Eastern Realm. And wow is it soon.

According to a new post on the Ubisoft website, Immortals Fenyx Rising - Myths of the Eastern Realm will release on PC and console on March 25, 2021 (about two weeks from now).

In the DLC, players will take over a new hero named Ku and will dive deep into the world of Chinese mythology in a new story campaign. Details about the story and world therein remain scarce, however.

To tease the release, the base game will also receive a special primer quest. Titled We Are Not Alone, which appears on the southern end of the Valley of Eternal Spring, its a stamina-based platforming challenge high in the clouds. That should be available in a game update out right now.

This is a fantastic direction to take the game. Mythology of various regions have deep and rich stories to tell. They made great use of that depth with Greek mythology in the base game. By having the DLC expand into new regions, they introduce an even larger pool of lore to work with. Most studios would have saved such an idea for a sequel. But who knows, maybe Ku will star in his own game, should the DLC prove popular enough.

Immortals Fenyx Rising is available now on PC and consoles. The first DLC, A New God, is also available now. Myths of the Eastern Realm will release on March 25. Season Pass holders will be granted the DLC for free (well, its part of the cost of the season pass, but you get what I mean.)
