Images of Assassin's Creed Unity Leaked Online

As it has become a tradition for Ubisoft to release a new Assassin's Creed game every year... it also seems to be a tradition that the game gets leaked to the press early. Assassin's Creed III had info and screenshots leaked early, Assassin's Creed IV had its debut trailer leaked early.

You would think by now Ubisoft would have figured out which employee is sneaking these things out to the press... or perhaps the leaks are intentional viral marketing. I blame those guys at Abstergo... freaking Templars. Whatever the case may be, the next game is called Assassin's Creed Unity, takes place during the French Revolution, and you play an assassin named Arno. Unity is one of three AC games in the works right now, as told by Yves Guillemot at E3 last year.



The game is reported to be in development for PS4 and Xbox One only, with a second AC titled code-named Comet being developed for last gen systems. The third game is still unknown... but a Vita/3DS title would be a pretty safe bet. The French Revolution makes perfect sense as a setting... as Ubisoft is a French company and that's a pretty important historical period for them. Recognizable Parisian landmarks like Notre Dame can be spotted, although admittedly the game still looks pretty early in terms of lighting and textures. While Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag was an excellent game, it does feel as if they are over-saturating the series a bit. Three AC games on three systems in one year?



Be prepared for Marie Antoinette be-headings, crepes, and cheese omelettes when Unity launches this holiday season. 

UPDATE- and almost as if they knew about this leak ahead of time... Ubisoft has released a short trailer for the game.
