Miss some Quake? Been craving a new Quake game for awhile? Well, you may... just may want to jump for joy. Several job listings at id Software have been implying that the developer is looking to work on a new Quake title.
It would make some sense, considering they just released DOOM. Several job listings at the Texas-based studio, including a Lead Gameplay Programmer, a Senior Physics Programmer, a Senior Lighting Artist, and an Art Supervisor, state that the company is looking for candidates "to work as part of a development team on legendary id game properties like DOOM and QUAKE."
Quake Live, which was free-to-play for a little while but is now $10, was the latest Quake to have been released, having launched in 2010. Before then was Quake 4, which released five years before. However, what's still played to this day during professional tournaments (such as the one held at QuakeCon) is the multiplayer-centric Quake III arena, which was contained the best multiplayer in the entire series.
Do you believe that there is a new Quake in the works? Are you excited for it? What would you like in the new Quake, and what improvements would you like to see?
