If you happen to be a hardcore gamer who also subscribes to Vogue, then this latest issue is probably going to be quite a treat for you, because the first issue of 2020 is dedicated to the fine art of illustration, and the cover picture is probably going to catch your attention in a pretty profound way.

The picture, of which you can see but a slice above, depicts model Linsey Wixton wearing a Gucci dress. However, it was drawn by the extremely iconic Yoshitaka Amano, the famous artist responsible for many of Final Fantasy’s most iconic illustrations. It’s not unprecedented to see his work outside the video game world - the guy has worked on a lot in his long career - but it’s always a treat to see something so clearly evocative of video games on the cover of Vogue. Especially now, when there’s functionally nothing else to report.

You know, tis the season.
