Remember the Ice Bucket Challenge fad last year?

If you didn't remember, you probably either suppressed the memory or avoided the Internet. Anyway, the original Icetris (or Ice Tris/IceTris), a free indie game developed by Tenkai, made its appearence (November 24th, 2014) during the Ice Bucket Challenge period in order to raise awareness for the charity. Since then, the Polish developer created two special editions -- one for Halloween and one for Christmas.

The gameplay is a combination of Match 3 and a falling block game. The goal is to catch falling items into the correct containers on the bottom of the screen. For example, the buckets are strictly only for collecting ice cubes. If you fail to follow instructions, game over. Simple as that.

Of course, just in the nick of time, Tenkai created a third special edition -- the Valentine's Day special, released on February 10th, 2015. The colors are vibrant, sweet, and elegant, and the pixelated approach is quite lighthearted for the crowd.

A screenshot of the Valentine's Day special was featured in the Screenshot Weekly segment on the Indie Game Magazine. The screenshot depicted a snoopy-like dog floating in the air, with heart balloons, above a bucket and hearts. Chocolates, ice cubes, and even birds appear to be falling from the sky toward the buckets.

The coolest aspect of this game is that it features people that have taken the Ice Bucket Challenge. You can pick up Icetris on Google Play, the App Store, or the Windows Store for free.
