I reported earlier that Microsoft had effectively rendered its own console obsolete with Microsoft Cross-Play, which bragged that any game that could be played on the Xbox One could also be played on Windows 10, meaning that Xbox One exclusives were no longer a thing and there was no reason to not just get a gaming PC over your standard Xbox One console.
Well, I'm not about to claim that Microsoft is paying attention to lil' old me or takes my advice, but the timing of this next bit of news is certainly convenient: as noted by The Escapist, who noticed a YouTuber, who noticed the changes, Microsoft has recently (and silently) amended their promise on the Windows blog, changing it to: "Every new title published from Microsoft Studios that we showed onstage at E3 this year will support Xbox Play Anywhere and will be easily accessible in the Windows Store."
So they're scaling it back some--which is good(?) news for Xbox One owners, and a bit sour for the PC master race, but hell--they have framerates, they can deal with it. I mean, there were a lot of reasons that was a pretty daunting promise, so, it makes sense they would scale it back.
I'll keep ya'll posted.
