Humble Bundle has been an ally to both indie developers and to charities for years. And now, they want to strengthen that bond further. Introducing Humble Games, a dedicated games publishing label.

Humble, known for the "pay what you want" charity program called Humble Bundle, has been a commonplace name in the gaming industry for ages. It offered a selection of games, both indie and triple A, to players at drastically reduced prices. And in turn, a portion of the money made goes toward a selected charity. The organization would later open its own online store, the Humble Store, that sold a variety of games with the same charitable benefit.

What fewer folks may know is that Humble has been dabbling in games publishing as well. They helped publish many indie titles, such as Forager, Void Bastards, and Temtem. Now they want to dive deeper into this effort by making their own publishing label. The branch will have a focus on supporting otherwise overlooked indie developers and their games.

As a consumer, this doesn't mean a great deal. You can expect more interesting indie games to enter the market. What makes this interesting to us is Humble's history of charitable behavior. While other publishers are pushing for more microtransactions and crunching dev teams, Humble was raising money for charities like Able Gamers and Doctors Without Borders. If we had to choose any one publisher to support, it'd be this one.
