The popular streaming service Hulu has confirmed to be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Nintendo announced that the app will be released on the Nintendo eShop this week in their Nintendo Download weekly newsletter email.
Hulu is not yet available on the eShop, nor did they specify what day it will be released. The eShop normally updates its content on Tuesdays and Fridays, so we can expect something by then. Outside of that, no other information was given about this release.
Hulu will be the first major streaming service for the Switch in North America. The Wii U only had the top 3, Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube (Sorry Twitch), so I don't expect the Switch to have much more. Hulu has been on a roll this last year. They've locked down a growing collection of highly in-demand shows like 30 Rock, Futurama, Bob's Burgers, and more. Hulu has also been in the works on their own original content, which includes esports shows!
If you're a fan of Hulu and want the portability of the Switch (without the tiny screen of a smartphone), then be sure to check out the Nintendo eShop either this Friday or this upcoming Tuesday. Hulu is expected to be free to download and view with the login of a Hulu account. A range of paid subscriptions ranging from 8 to 12 dollars for various degrees of "less to no advertisements" is also available.
Update: Hulu is now available for the Nintendo Switch.
