Huge Leaving Punishments Could be Coming to Overwatch Soon

There is nothing worse than a rage-quitter in a team-focused game such as Overwatch, especially in the Competitive mode, when you're counting on every last one of your teammates to at least stay until the end of the match and try their hardest. Blizzard has consistently been increasing the punishments dished out to compulsive quitters in Overwatch, but now, Jeff Kaplan has stated on the forums today that some very steep consequences could be coming to repeat offenders in the future. God bless his soul.

The community had suggested marking certain players with a history of leaving games, but Jeff Kaplan thinks that even more strict measures have to be put in place to prevent leavers from ever playing Competitive ever again if they get to a certain point.

"Well definitely take the idea into consideration. Our philosophy has been that we would rather not have leavers playing the game at all (especially in Competitive Play). We keep increasing the penalty for leaving and will continue to do so. Were in the process of implementing a new policy which would take into account how many Competitive Seasons you have been banned from and at a certain point, prevent you from playing Competitive ever again."
