How to Become a Pro Gamer

Most Professional Gamers begin their gaming careers as a casual gamer, and somewhere along the line hear about competitive gaming. They'll become intrigued by the concept of competitive gaming and decide that they want to pursue it. Every casual gamer has the opportunity to become a Professional; it's getting started that's the hard part.

When I was about 12 years old a friend told me about this game called Socom II: US Navy Seals for the PlayStation 2. We were goofing around in an online match and talking trash to the players on the opposite team. Their rebuttal to our trash talking was, "You guys aren't even on the front page of GameBattles!" Our first thought at the time was, "What is GameBattles?" Our interest was definitely piqued. We asked them about it and they sent us over to the website where we saw that there more than 200 teams playing Socom II. We decided to test our skills because we figured the best of the best could be found playing here. At that point, GameBattles' matches were only 4v4, so now it was our job to find 2 more players. This was more difficult than it may sound, but eventually we ended up playing with my friend's brother and one of his friends......
