How SmartGlass will work with the XBox One
In a new Xbox Wire post, Microsoft has explained how the Xbox One SmartGlass will work with the console. SmartGlass is an application compatible with Android, iOS, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8 devices. Although the second screen can be used for a second controller if the developers want it to, SmartGlass will mainly be used for matchmaking and providing you with game help.
SmartGlass will have a Game Help feature which will give you advice and tips on the game that you're stuck on. SmartGlass will recognize where you're stuck at in the game and then pull up advice based on where you're at. This feature will definitely add to the overall gaming experience, as you won't have to perform a Google search for a walkthrough or other detailed guides.
Apparently there are two apps, one for the Xbox 360 and the other for Xbox One. SmartGlass will also work when you are away from the console, allowing you to see your friends' activity, Achievements and the Xbox store. There's also a good deal of TV and entertainment functionality built in, as you can select media to play on the console without interrupting what's currently on the television.
