Ohohoho, well, I have been a little behind on Halloween articles. Okay not really, as I've just written about Corpse Party just yesterday. Well, today I am also focusing on a small game titled Alpha Polaris, an old-school adventure that focuses on character-driven horror and environmental themes. It actually released today, October 22, though it was previously release retail-style worldwide.

The plot?

Set in Greenland's snowfields is an American oil research station. In the research station, the ion storm of the century is brewing. Finnish studio Lapland is aiming for the game to be an authentic Artic experience, stuffing in inspiration from inuit legends, Cthulhu mythos and polar bears!

Here are the following features Alpha Polaris offers:
  • Expanded resolution support with a minimum resolution of 1280 x 768
  • Steam achievements & trading cards
  • Minor improvements and fixes, tweaked dialogue
  • Professional English voice acting with in-game texts available in English, Russian, German, and Polish.

Alpha Polaris is now available on Steam at 20% off for $9.59 (original price $11.99).
