PS4 Pro Worth It Yet?

There's a lot of debate over the PS4 Pro. Players either love it, and feel that the benefits will only get better over time, or they feel it's a giant waste of money. Sony didn't offer any incentives to push players to upgrade devices, no free PS+ for two years when upgrading or anything of the sort.

And yet, no one can deny that when games are optimized for the PS4 Pro, things get a lot more clear.

In a recent debut of Horizon Zero Dawn graphics, IGN put the PS4 Pro's visuals on display. Notice the differences are so difficult to pick up on, a comparison is basically impossible in most examples below. The reason for this is that Horizon Zero Dawn features dynamic lighting and weather. With lighting fluctuations constantly happening, it makes it difficult to hone in on what looks good and what looks better.

The Verdict

It's safe to say games just look beautiful these days. Technology has made it possible for games to become so realistic, they're the epitome of immersive now. For this reason, the PS4 Pro may offer 4K and "better" visuals, but it's honestly not necessary. Unless you're a hardware nerd, or have a 4K TV and want to use it, you're not missing much.
