Hitman Reboot to be Episodic Experience, Intro Pack Releasing March 11

That face is probably the reaction a lot would have toward this model.

Just yesterday, people worried over the removal of the upcoming reboot Hitman on the PlayStation Store, but Square Enix told players not to worry and panic, as they were changing the "configuration of the product." Turns out the reason for that is... well, Hitman has gone a little episodic.

That's right, it's been officially confirmed and solidified from Io-Interactive. Hitman, which'll be launching March 11 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, will become a "truly episodic AAA game experience, with a major live component."

By that, players will be able to take on contract hits on all sorts of high-profile targets around the world. On March 11, the Prologue Mission and Paris location will launch, with Italy hitting in April and Morocco releasing in May. From there, Hitman will be providing regular content updates each month, featuring Thailand, the US, and Japan. The season will be ending sometime later 2016. Of course, expect more content in between the major updates.

According to Hannes Seifert, Head of Studio at Io-Interactive:

"We decided to take the full leap and publish Hitman as a truly episodic game experience. Part of that decision is for that little bit of extra time to ensure every location we release is at the quality level fitting for a Hitman game. But the main driving reason is that this will allow us to create a living game that will expand and evolve over time and establish a foundation for the future - this is the first game in a storyline which will continue and expand with future Hitman games."

So you're curious about the pricing, eh? Well, this may bother you a little bit. The Intro Pack, which contains the first two major parts that I described before, will be priced at $15. Each location will be priced at $10 as an add-on to the Intro Pack. However, if players are trying out the Intro Pack and want to continue, they can always purchase the full experience--titled the Upgrade Pack--up front for $50. If you want to buy everything as a bundle, you can purchase the Full Experience for $60. And then there is a disc version, which will be shipping by the end of 2016.

That's a little unfortunate then, because if you're paying for each individual piece, you're paying $15 for the initial packaging, then $10 each, totaling to $50. That would then mean you're paying $65 in the end rather than $60. So basically, you're paying for your own doubt to continue the game. Either way, PlayStation users are going to get a little bonus (as usual, it seems): they'll be able to access The Sarajevo Six, which includes six contracts--one released with each location--but it's more of a side-story that's exclusive.

If you're wanting to give it a go, the Hitman beta will begin February 12 on the PlayStation 4 and February 19 for the PC. For a guaranteed spot, all you have to do is pre-order the Full Experience or the Intro Pack.

I feel like the Xbox One players have been a little shafted...
