With the episodic Hitman on the way to store shelves soon, it's no surprise that the Hitman Beta will be hitting tomorrow. A few days ago, an official FAQ for the beta was posted on the website. We'll present to you the highlights here:
What's in the Beta?
Basically, you're only getting the Prologue, which is set at the very beginning of the game at a top secret recruitment and training facility. You'll at least learn about how Agent 47 joined the ICA. In other words, you'll be playing a tutorial phase, but you'll get to replay it as many times as you'd like throughout the beta period.
How Do I Get Access?
Unfortunately, there are only two ways to get access: one is to pre-order the game digitally on PS4 or Steam. Two is pre-order the Collector's Edition.
When Does the Beta Start?
In Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania, the PS4 Beta will begin at 11:00 CET on February 12, 2016 and end on February 15, 2016 at 11:00 CET. In the United States, Canada, and Latin America, the PS4 Beta will begin at 8:00 PST on February 12 and end on February 15 at 8:00 PST, and the PC Beta will begin at 11:00 CET on February 19, 2016 and end on February 22 at 11:00 CET worldwide.
How Do I Get My Beta Code?
For the PS4 editions, the pre-order will include the beta as the download on the PSN Store. No code involved! For the PC, 'HITMAN BETA' will appear in your Steam Library, and if you pre-ordered digitally through a retailer, you'll receive a beta code from the retailer before the beta begins.
Some other important points to make is that the progress won't carry over between the beta and the full game, you can share videos and screenshots, or you can stream the game to your heart's content, and the PS4 beta size will be 4.7GB. The PC beta size will be similar.
If you'd like to give feedback on the beta, the team prefers that you head over to the dedicated Hitman Beta section on the Square Enix Forums.
You can check out the full FAQ here.
The first episode of Hitman will release March 11 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
