Hi-Rez Studios Unveils Smite: Tactics

Now, now, I know the world is in a tizzy because of the new Nintendo Switch unveil, but other things are happening!

For example, Hi-Rez Studios has been busy as of late! Between continued updates to Smite and their recent launch of the beta of Paladins (which is proving far more successful than I would have imagined - my bad!), it seems they've barely had time to collect their bearings, let alone their accolades. But, you know what they say: no rest for the wicked, and it seems Hi-Rez Studios has been very wicked, because they just now revealed a trailer for the OTHER project they've been working on: Smite Tactics, which combines the joy of digital trading card games with the skill of turn-based strategy.



SMITE Tactics is a game of strategy where players will carefully choose which minions to deploy across the battlefield and which gods will lead them. Every unit has unique abilities and players will build their armies prior to battle using collectible cards. Compete for prestige in 1v1 ranked competitive modes and experience various adventure modes versus AI.

Huh. Well, we don't know much about the game yet, only that it's coming to Alpha soon and some players will get a chance to try it themselves before long. Looks like it could be fun... if only I didn't hate Smite on principle, I might be excited.

But I do, so... I'm not. My loss.
