Looking for some PC game nostalgia? Do you remember the games Heretic and Hexen?

I actually don't because I was never a PC gamer until 2012. Anyway, GOG has released a little surprise for those who've played Heretic back in the 90s, a title that ran on the same engine as DOOM (although the same can be said of potentially dozens or hundreds of DOOM clones).

Today marks the release of the classic on GOG. The following titles are available on the storefront:
  • Heretic: Shadow of the Serpent Riders
  • HeXen: Beyond Heretic (where you battle as a fighter, cleric, or mage!)
  • HeXen: Deathkings of the Dark Citadel
  • HeXen II
But what made these games more unique than others? Well for one, there was an on-character inventory, which was, at the time, one of the first of its kind. For two, there was a unique story. For three, you were not only able to look left and right (like others) but also up and down.

If this is something you want to spend a few bucks on, you can head on over to the Heretic + HeXen Collection page on GOG.
